History

Little Dolphins preschool started 17 years ago as a co-op in a back yard in Pacific Palisades. In 1995 the founders moved the school to Temescal Gateway Park and changed it from a co-op to a non profit preschool. For the past 13 years the school has resided in the State Park inspiring children and providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The founders’ dedication to a multicultural curriculum was based on a desire to expose children at an early age to the differences in our world.

Understanding that children learn through creative play, art, music and physical expression, the curriculum was created to stimulate the mind and ignite the imagination. With founders, a director and teachers from all different cultures and backgrounds, the leadership works together to support the schools mission. Although we had a very positive tenant / landlord relationship with the State Park for 13 years, the Park decided to go in a different direction and use the land that Little Dolphins occupied for other purposes.

The unexpected non-renewal of our lease sent us in search of a new home for Little Dolphins. We are excited to begin a new chapter in the life of our school as we move to Santa Monica for the 2008-9 school year.
