Application Process
Little Dolphins By The Sea is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year. For fifteen years Little Dolphins has offered a rich preschool curriculum focused on the arts and experiential learning. In the 2011-2012 school year we will be continuing our magical program in our new home in Santa Monica. We are enthusiastic about this opportunity for the school to grow and look forward to welcoming new families to our community. 1 – Submit a Complete Application
Upon receipt of your completed application, we will contact you to schedule a group tour. At the conclusion of the tour, there will be an opportunity to ask questions. We encourage you to take advantage of this time to become more familiar with our school and style of education. It is important to us that both parents are involved in the admissions process. School tours will be held October 2011, through January of 2012 and all families (parents only) must take a scheduled tour of the school to proceed with the admissions process.
2 – Tour The School
Please submit a completed application (one per child) with the $125 non-refundable application fee and a family photograph. The information you give on the application form is confidential. It is expected that your child be fully potty trained to attend our Preschool. Recommendation letters may be submitted with applications but are not required. Your application to Little Dolphins By The Sea is evaluated carefully to assure that we can best serve the needs of your child and family, as well as those of the rest of the school.
3 - Brief Parent Interview
Each family will be called to schedule a short (approximately 20 minutes) interview. The interview gives parents an opportunity to ask specific questions and a chance to share your family with the school.
4 – Admissions Decisions
Admissions decisions are based on maintaining a balance of boys and girls among the mixed age groups, and maintaining a diverse community of families within Little Dolphins. Notification of our decision will be sent by mail by February 24, 2012 for families who have completed the process by January 14, 2012. This year, because of our move and the delayed start of our admissions process, applications received after the 10th are welcome and will be considered on a rolling admissions basis.
